Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for assigning and directing work, inspections of equipment, monitoring productivity, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and following established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure high quality of the finished product. Under the direction of immediate manager, coordinates daily activities of assigned work force, shifts, and production units. 

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

• Reviews production, maintenance, and shipping timetables, and other related information and confers with department supervisors to coordinate daily work activities. 

• Develop and monitor measures related to process controls, process yield, scrap, and resource utilization

• Schedule staffing to perform production duties and meet efficiency goals.

• Monitors break, and lunch schedules for assigned work force. 

• Reviews employee performance. 

• Ensures that product is within quality and customer specifications. 

• Maintains documentation necessary to satisfy inspections. 

• Ensures that employees are using appropriate protective equipment and that CAP and cleaning procedures are applied properly. 

• Coordinates with Quality Assurance staff to be sure operations are meeting specifications. 

• Maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, preventative maintenance logs, in process production reports, and status and location of materials. 

• Monitors material, and resources required to complete assignments. 

• Moves or transports materials from one department to another. 

• Monitors and controls movement of material and parts on automated conveyor system. 

• Arranges for repair and assembly of materials or parts. 

• Each employee will be responsible for maintaining their work area, common facilities (break areas, restrooms, etc) and any personal storage areas that are assigned in a clean and organized manner. 

• Interact with multiple departments as a resource. 

• Conduct tests and analyze results to provide recommendations to improve production processes

• Work to continuously improve manufacturing cycle time 

• Participate in engineering projects as a team member to provide ideas towards a desired outcome. 

• Commit to a safe working environment free from harm ensuring personal safety and the safety of others. 

• Follow all work place safety rules and procedures. 

• Proactively identify and resolve safety hazards. 

Job Requirements

Education Level

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent experience, from two-year College or technical school or university

• Knowledge of e-mail Internet software and MS Word, Power Point, EXCEL, and VISIO

• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Good mathematical skills.

Experience Required

• Strong understanding in manufacturing principle and improvement. 

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. 

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and techniques. 

• Knowledge in production planning 

• Must be skilled in root cause analysis, troubleshooting problems with manufacturing equipment, identifying solutions, recommending and implementing methods, procedures, and/or techniques for resolution. 

• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Requires normal or correctable vision, normal or correctable hearing, and manual dexterity. 

• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
